What’s behind the “Côté Jardin” sign?
“Côté Jardin” is the label created in 2000 by Geneva’s vegetable farmers. The mark guarantees that what you are buying is regional produce grown in strict adherence to environmental regulations (prestations écologiques requises or PER), and integrated production (IP) as well as label-specific regulations. The strictest quality controls are carried out by the Union Maraîchère de Genève, a cooperative, in Carouge (www.umg.ch).
All producers wishing to qualify for the “Côté Jardin” label must already be certified for the “Genève Région-Terre Avenir” and “Suisse Garantie” labels. |
